The following reply was made to PR kern/58139; it has been noted by GNATS. However, changing the INT[ABC] assignment in the BIOS from all INT* using IRQ 11 to INTA=IRQ9, INTB=10 and INT[CDEFGH]=11 respectively seems to have fixed this. No more crashes occur when trying to use fxp0 or wi0. I am not sure if the settings of all INT* mapping to the same IRQ was 'out-of-the-box' or an unwanted side effect of the last BIOS/embedded controller update. I installed a 5.2-SNAPSHOT miniinst-CD dated 20040129 just fine (provided by Bruce A. Mah, thanks!) and cvsup'ed to current with a GENERIC kernel last night. hardware details: IBM Thinkpad X23, Type 2662-E5U, BIOS v1.32 (1DET70WW), BIOS date 2003-06-10, embedded controller version 1.30 -andreas
