Per a discussion in one of the other groups:

2.2.[7,8] and upwards are thought to be 2000 compliant. No garantees can be
given though.

2.2.5 and 2.2.6 are also thought to be compliant... Best bet would be given the
fact that it's about 12/13 months to the `Big Bang' that one would upgrade to
2.2.8 or even 3.0 or 3.1 somewhere soon next year...
