There are already pages around with this sort of data, albeit not FreeBSD 
specific.

The Hardware database at http://www.linuxalpha.org shows what cards work 
with what system (and SRM version), as does a page here 
http://moon.hanya-n.org/comp/alpha/hct/graphics.html

My Miata runs X fine with a Matrox Millenium
