There has been recent discussion.  Search the email archives at
www.freebsd.org and search for:
SCSI-SCSI
and/or
RAID

The SCSI-SCSI is fairly expensive, but it appears to be the way to go
for *mission critical* use.
Unix systems measure "uptime" in years, Winblows measures it in minutes.
