It wasn't a mistake. I was told that there was a *.mk bug that was fixed that dealt with the problem kmod.mk rev 1.189 was suppose to fix. It was based on that, that I agreed to have revision 1.189 backed out. However, I just ran into the problem again while trying to update a system from March 8th: # cd /usr/src/share/mk ; make obj ; make all install # cd /usr/src/usr.sbin/config ; make obj ; make all install # cd /sys/i386/conf ; config FOO # cd ../../compile/FOO ; make depend ; make ..snip.. ===> 3dfx (all) make: don't know how to make machine/bus_at386.h. Stop *** Error code 2 Please back out this "mistake", or please fix the issue where "make depends" isn't producing a usable .depends file. It is stupid to have to do "make cleandepends ; make depends" in order to get a usable .depends file.
