Go to www.t10.org and look for the link that says 'ASC/ASCQ table'.
ATAPI is really just the SCSI command protcol over IDE cables.  Btw,
the ASC/ASCQ table is far too big for a man page.  However, if you
run ATAPICAM, CAM has most of the table embedded in it and will 
give you human-readable translations of these errors when they
happen.
