On Thu, Jan 31, 2002 at 02:10:14PM -0700 I heard the voice of

Actually, I was thinking more of:
"I did a make world and the resulting system {wasn't as stable,<insert
problem here>}, so I checked out with {CVS,CVSup} a tree from 2 weeks ago
and built it, and now I have {no serial number, the latest serial number}."

Ooh, I dislike such a file rather intensely myself.

Just the thought of watching a CVSup copy down a file with a few hundred
revisions every time I run it is scary, to say nothing of the space it
would take up after a few years. I don't have a solution for this, only
the problem.
