I had once such a net with two fbsd boxes and plip, parallel interface, which was reasonalbe fast, but its not in Windows, I think. So: ethernet. And try to find the pedantic ppp primer at www.freebsd.org or on your harddrive, if you have 4.0. /usr/share/doc ?
