A friend of mine mine REALLY wants FreeBSD running on PowerMacs and to this end he gave me a Power computing 1300 to see how far I could get. It is sitting in the corner right now (it arrived two days ago). If anyone is interesting in starting a ppc port, I'd be more than happy to help out.
