Hi, Iīve tried to install FreeBSD on a IBM PC Server330. Itīs an old PCI/EISA PPro machine with an onboard adaptec7880 Chip (which is connect to the PCI Bus). Anyway, anytime, when I try to install FreeBSD it hangs at "Waiting 15sec. for SCSI Devices to settle". The previous part of the booting message is looking ok, as far as I can tell. This happens with 4.2 and 4.3, no matter wether I use Bootdisks or the CD Rom. Termination is ok (using external Terminators with no devices terminated) and Iīve changed the cables, both terminators, the Harddisk and the CD Rom, so defunct devices are rather unlikely the problem. IDīs are ok, of course. NetSD and Linux are booting without problems, but I definately would like Free on this machine. Also, the supplied diagnostics diskette from IBM did not unveal any SCSI Problems. Anyone any idea or similar experiences ? For Info, the machine only has two 68Pin connectors, the 50Pin is not available. For those who know this machine by chance, I am not having the RAID Adapter installed.
