Apologies for the format as I am currently force to exchange :-(

Hello,

Try the mail archive. I was pretty easy to do, although it is important =
to follow all the steps in UPDATING in order to avoid problems booting. =
The link below is a step by step that I osted a way back just after =
successfully updating.

Subject: Upgrading from 3.4-stable to 4.0-stable

I'm getting ready to upgrade (via source) from RELENG_3 to RELENG_4.

I grabbed th UPDATING file from branches/4.0-stable/src to see if
there are any "gotchas", and the file begins:

"Updating Information for FreeBSD current users"

Well, I'm not going to -current (I'm going to -stable), so I'm not sure
if this file is relevant. Perhaps it's the wrong file, or perhaps the
title just hasn't been changed. Either way, are there any problems in
this upgrade? I remember going from RELENG_2 to RELENG_3 had a few
idiosyncrasies. I was one mention in the archives that one need to
go to 4.0-release first, but I haven't been able to verify that in
any documentation.

Any help/insight is greatly appreciated.
