FreshPorts tells me of this problem:
$ make -V PORTVERSION
Variable PKGNAMEPREFIX is recursive.
$ grep PKGNAMEPREFIX Makefile
PKGNAMEPREFIX:= ${PKGNAMEPREFIX}tw-
