I have had similar results with an AMD video card, even though it is supposed to be supported in the drm-kmod stuff.  It is supposed to be in 5.11 and covered in the current drm-kmod, but I have been unable to see it work with xorg.   Also, as mentioned, scfb works for me in a basic way, with 1024x768 only.  Years ago that was pretty good resolution, but it doesn't seem so great anymore.  I like FreeBSD but they seem to be having a hard time with support for more modern video cards.  Good luck, Mike

Thanks. I'll have to try that when I'm around the
machine again, to see if the performance is decent
enough for now. I'll report back once I've checked.
