Their loss, since the real demand for DAT storage solutions is the higher end computing environments, where Microsoft products are typically viewed as desktop toys. That could change if somebody could give me a $200 4MM DAT drive with reasonably high storage capacity... but Sony is not the player I would be betting on to achieve this goal. I agree with the philosophy of not buying from cruddy vendors with bad attitudes, but I will also remind you that the various UNIX variants around (both commercial and noncommercial) have typically done a good job of supporting hardware despite the manufacturers. Not that I am encouraging anyone to buy this thing... ;-) ...
