However, we have a bit of a deadlock: the upstream infrastructure at GitLab.freedesktop is currently locked down for new accounts due to spam. I have an open ticket to get my account unlocked so I can submit PRs, but until they lift the restrictions, I can't push my FreeBSD-specific changes there. As soon as they are merged upstream, I'll update the port to track the 'blessed' source.
