Oops-- Emanuel accidentally committed the patch attached to the PR
rather than running the patch on the portsdir;

I'll fix this when I get home unless Emanuel gets there first.

Also, although I'm not going to revert the commit I'd like to give you
a small slap on the wrist for patching configure-- upstream will want
a configure.ac patch if this is to be properly fixed.
