I have an IOGear MiniView USB KVM (probably model GCS102U, but I can't verify from here). It has VGA & USB connections to 2 systems, with a VGA connector and 4-port USB hub switchable between the 2 hosts. The KVM works fine with my Mac and my HP Pavilion running 4.5-R through 4.9-PRE, but a newer Dell 600SC hangs if the KVM is 'connected' (switched over to the PC) at boot time (under 4.8-R through RELENG_4 as of 2003.09.10.00.00.00). If I switch to the 600SC after it's up, the KVM attaches and detaches properly. I will write a full PR once I've gotten configured the serial terminal working so I can capture the hang, but in the meantime I wanted to mention the problem. Here's what the Pavilion has to say about the KVM from dmesg: >uhci0: <Intel 82801AA (ICH) USB controller> port 0x1080-0x109f irq >11 at device 31.2 on pci0 >usb0: <Intel 82801AA (ICH) USB controller> on uhci0 >usb0: USB revision 1.0 >uhub0: Intel UHCI root hub, class 9/0, rev 1.00/1.00, addr 1 >uhub0: 2 ports with 2 removable, self powered >uhub1: Texas Instruments TUSB2046 hub, class 9/0, rev 1.10/1.25, addr 2 >uhub1: 4 ports with 4 removable, self powered Here's the last boot from the 600SC (without the KVM switched over): >Copyright (c) 1992-2003 The FreeBSD Project. >Copyright (c) 1979, 1980, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994 > The Regents of the University of California.
