Hi,
CACAO is 64 bit just-in-time (JIT) compiler for Java. It translates Java
byte code on demand into native code for the ALPHA processor.

The Scientific Applications on Linux site comments that Cacao will be
available in a future under the GPL:

cheers,
	Pedro.
