If you, for example, have lots of aliases on your network interfaces (I mean, a lot), then if you run named on this machine, it will complain: Jun 2 16:49:08 sputnik named[993]: evSelectFD(dfd=256): Invalid argument Jun 2 16:49:08 sputnik named[993]: deleting interface [209.133.113.127].53 Jun 2 16:49:08 sputnik named[993]: evSelectFD(dfd=256): Invalid argument Jun 2 16:49:08 sputnik named[993]: deleting interface [209.133.113.128].53 Jun 2 16:49:08 sputnik named[993]: evSelectFD(dfd=256): Invalid argument Jun 2 16:49:08 sputnik named[993]: deleting interface [209.133.113.129].53 Jun 2 16:49:08 sputnik named[993]: evSelectFD(dfd=256): Invalid argument Jun 2 16:49:08 sputnik named[993]: deleting interface [209.133.113.130].53 Jun 2 16:49:08 sputnik named[993]: evSelectFD(dfd=256): Invalid argument Jun 2 16:49:08 sputnik named[993]: deleting interface [209.133.113.131].53 Jun 2 16:49:08 sputnik named[993]: evSelectFD(dfd=256): Invalid argument like this. (It was a bind8) The same with bind4, with a slightly different message. And this machine has only class C. >From what I understand, this is not a very uncommon situation. I was just trying to fix it. Another problem is a busy IRC server. irc.best.net, for example, requires FD_SETSIZE defined to 2048 at least. > > > > Bruce > > > > > > > -- dima > > > > Cheers, > -Peter > -- > Peter Wemm <peter@netplex.com.au> Netplex Consulting > > -- dima To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe cvs-all" in the body of the message
