(VRTS.O) said on Thursday its software used to backup data on computer systems is being shipped with Red Hat Inc.'s Linux 6.1 Delux product. "This is the first step as a result of the agreement we announced in early November to jointly develop enterprise storage management solutions for the Red Hat Linux marketplace," Paul McNamara, general manager of the enterprise business unit at Red Hat, said. Linux is a free version of the Unix operating system that was developed by Finnish programmer Linus Torvalds and a network of programmers.
