>Environment:
Not applicble, the problem arises before completing installation
>Description:
After booting kern.flp and mfsroot.flp, selecting and configuring
devices, the system freezes while on the "blue screen", with the
message "probing ... this can take a while". It takes forever.

Several people have reported the same problem in the lists. In my
case, if I deselect the network card (which was working under 3.0),
the booting goes on. Some people reported a workaround by changing
address of the card, or configuring "eisa 12" in CLI mode. That
didn't work in my case.
>How-To-Repeat:
The problem happens ALWAYS in my Aptiva 166 with NE2000 compatible
card.

On release 3.0 I could go out of the "probing" state by typing
CONTROL-C and continuing with installation. This did not work
with 2.2.8 neither with 3.1.

>Fix:
Sorry, no idea.
