Aside from Eric's suggestion, Bakul suggested making sure I was using
/usr/bin/patch (I was) and then suggested blowing away the qemu
directory and starting afresh.

That reminded me how I've fixed qemu problems in the past by simply
csup-ing and then doing build and install world. So, I csup-ped, built
world and tried again, and everything worked.

Thanks to everyone and sorry for the noise.

Willow: The only solution is the final solution.
Xander: Nuke the school? I like that.
Willow: Not quite. Exorcism.
Cordelia: Are you crazy? I saw that movie. Even the priest died.
