You're all done then with the FreeBSD part. You can change the color, theme, and other stuff using the Windowmaker WPref icon and the Appearance item on the menu. To change the resolution you need to reconfigure XFree86 and choose a higher resolution (or disable virtual desktop). There's a chapter in the Handbook on configuring XFree86. Decent documentation for Windowmaker is very scarce, but you can start at www.windowmaker.org.
