This is my current ppp options file. I use it for dial on boot, 24/7 connect and it works fine. I am in need of changing this to a dial on demand connection (I am going to be terminating my 24/7) and I need to know what to change. ------------------------------------------------- crtscts # enable hardware flow control modem # modem control line connect "/usr/bin/chat -f /etc/ppp/login.chat.script" # noipdefault # remote PPP server must supply your IP address. # if the remote host doesn't send your IP during # IPCP negotiation, remove this option passive # wait for LCP packets domain cybcon.com # put your domain name here 205.147.76.99:205.147.64.49 # put the IP of remote PPP host here # it will be used to route packets via PPP link # if you didn't specified the noipdefault option # change this line to <local_ip>:<remote_ip> defaultroute # put this if you want that PPP server will be # your default router persist # Redial if link dies. ------------------------------------------------- The pppd command to dial on boot is in /etc/rc.local as: --------- # PPP /usr/sbin/pppd --------- Any suggestions for me would be appreciated. -------------------------------------- William Woods <wwoods@cybcon.com> Date: 08-Sep-98 / Time: 13:17:07 goto to: http//www.freebsd.org. --> FreeBSD 3.0 CURRENT ELF <-- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
