Hello again,

Just to close this issue:

I finally made my built work the following way:
- adding the package fr-openoffice-1.0.2 from the 4.X package distributed on 
http://projects.imp.ch/openoffice
- trying to run that one, without any success, /usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1 
complaining about missing ld-elf.so.4...
- then doing make install on /usr/ports/french/openoffice, forcing 
registration to install it over the 4.X one.
- the whole install process completed succesfully, no more lock issue in 
registering components

Some more information about the installation problems: I modified the main
Makefile to run ooo network setup in verbose mode: the process stops on
"register configuration", after unpacking all files and registering
individual components...
