pkg 2.7.0 replaced how pkg deals with such things, now
using libfetch and not using curl at all. pkg 2.5.1
was committed upstream back on 2025-Dec-23. It may not
indicate much about the current status.

It would be appropriate to find out if pkg 2.7.5 still
shows the problem vs not. It might be that quarterly
and such should just be updated to the modern
pkg 2.7.5 .
