So how can you be sure it doesn't address the problem? This is the "Serial Ports not recognized on boot" syndrome we've been seeing. In all cases, an ALi UART was involved. Your changes look suspiciously like they're in that area, but I didn't know if they're complete yet, or even addressing exactly this problem. I still don't.
