FYI --- Support for the S3 Virge/DX card is present and works in XFree86 3.3.1 in both the SVGA and S3V servers, but ... the S3 Virge/DX is new so previous versions* are not likely to support it. The SVGA server with the XAA support is supposed to be a faster server (according to the XFree release notes) than the S3V server. * I'm not sure when support wasadded but since the card is fairly new I'd be willing to bet that it's only supported in 3.3.1 ... ** I'm running a generic S3 Virge/DX card under FreeBSD 3.0-SMP with XFree 3.3.1 and it works fine although I haven't tried it at 16bpp and 32bpp. Regards, Bill Morgart morgarws@molbio.sbphrd.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hackers" in the body of the message
