FWIW, from glancing online at Reddit and Stack Overflow, it seems the consensus
is that, as long as these CPUs are running under their max designed temperature
(100°C for Intel laptop CPUs I have seen), they will last for their designed
time, which is said to be 10+ (in admittedly very few posts).  There are some
"reports" of earlier MacBooks running mostly at ~100°C for years and not
getting broken.  For my personal uses, I'm still unclear if forcing lower
frequencies would be worth it.
