I read somewhere that adding the following to the /etc/make.conf file would improve system performance: march=native mtune=native Is there any truth to this? I an running 32-bit I386 Freebsd on a 64-bit processor. The main reason being that the is (was) no native 64-bit drivers for nVidia video cards. In any case, I thought 'mtune' defaults to what "march" is set to so why enter both? -- Carmel carmel_ny@hotmail.com |::::======= |::::======= |=========== |=========== | You should never bet against anything in science at odds of more than about 10^12 to 1.
