Yes! Because: dvd+rw-tools use the pseudo(?) scsi device cd in my case.

If I use dd with of=/dev/cd0 it works fine, too...

But somehow I was used to use "dd of=/dev/acd0 ..." and not "dd of=/dev/cd0
...".

I just wondered why the behaviour acd drivers changed from 5.2 to
5.2-CURRENT-20040408 (or earlier).
