No, I wouldn't, but I wouldn't expect that doing so would hang or panic the machine either. There is definately a bug in the floppy code, and it's been there for some time now. Hangs and crashes after improperly accessing a floppy do not occur with any other operating system I use, so why should it happen with FreeBSD?
