Log:
- Do checking for Python version ov pkg-req. This is somewhat experimental
and may require further tweaking.
- Use DOCSDIR.
- Now install examples optionally depending on NOPORTDOCS.
- Miscellaneous minor fixes and cleanups in Makefile.
- Update my email address in pkg-descr.
