If it's any consolation, it'll give you the nicest appearance and you
should be able to select which pages to print. It's huge, and some
sections won't be of interest right away. Don't forget the FAQ.

No, not stupid at all. It's practical. Normally all questions go to
freebsd-questions, but I'm glad you raised it here because you've
helped us to improve our documentation.
It looks like we need a FAQ entry for microsoft users, at least one
other output format for the FAQ and Handbook, and a link to it at the
beginning of the Handbook. Then it'll be easier for the next person,
because you took the time to ask :-)
