Hi,

I have an HP Vectra XU 5/133C. It has lnc1 built into the motherboard
which works fine for normal day to day activity. However, if I try
to ftp a large file, I get the following (using a generic kernel):

Apr 17 22:35:26 elisa /kernel: lnc1: Loss of carrier during transmit -- Net error?
Apr 17 22:35:55 elisa last message repeated 31 times
Apr 17 22:37:55 elisa last message repeated 104 times
Apr 17 22:47:53 elisa last message repeated 440 times
Apr 17 22:57:55 elisa last message repeated 453 times

Apr 17 23:37:56 elisa last message repeated 449 times
Apr 17 23:45:03 elisa last message repeated 330 times

With the above errors, the transfer rate is:

94030KB 4178 seconds (22.50 KB/Sec) (Not real good :-(

And from dmesg:

lnc1: <PCNet/PCI Ethernet adapter> rev 0x02 int b irq 9 on pci0.3.0
lnc1: PCnet-32 VL-Bus address 08:00:09:c3:71:3e

Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this? I've swapped
out ethernet cabling between the Fbsd box and my other unix box and isdn
router, but to no effect.

Thanks,
John
