I just did install 12-release to vmware fusion:

And unfortunately it does boot just fine...=20

Then I did create exactly the same install on vbox, and again it does boot.=
..
also browsing disk manually with ls (from OK prompt) does not give errors.

Therefore I am in trouble with reproducing the error.
