Hi, http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/porters-handbook/c1250.html#AEN1255 says to strip binaries. However INSTALL_PROGRAM script seem to do it for you automatically. Should this section be removed from the docs? 15.1 Strip Binaries Do strip binaries. If the original source already strips the binaries, fine; otherwise you should add a post-install rule to it yourself. Here is an example: post-install: strip ${PREFIX}/bin/xdl Use the file(1) command on the installed executable to check whether the binary is stripped or not.
