Hello,
Despite having read the printer setup guide in the handbook, and
having looked for information on HP's web site. I cannot get my HP
Deskjet 540 to work under FreeBSD. The contents of my input filter
(/usr/local/libexec/if) are:
printf "\O33&k2G" && cat && printf "\f" && exit 0
exit 2
When I run lptest 20 5 | lpr the printer feeds a sheet but doesn't
print anything on it. If I remove the first printf statement, it prints,
but it has the "stair-step" effect described in the Handbook (which is
why I added "printf "\O33&k2G"" in the first place)I copied the script
verbatim from the Handbook, and I don't have any idea what's wrong. If
it's supposed to have a zero instead of an O, that's not the problem,
because I tried both. I hope I didn't ramble on too much in this
message, and that you can understand my lame attempts to describe the
problem :)
