Hi, I have a similar problem, i.e., a clean installation process for 5.0-RELEASE produces the error: "Error Mounting /dev/acd0 on dist: Operation not supported by device (19)" (I wound up doing a minimal ftp install and then did a binary upgrade with the CD as the distribution medium.) Nate suggests: >>Does setting hw.ata.atapi_dma=1 help? How would you do this in the clean installation scenario. Is there a way to pass this setting to the kernel during the boot process, or modify the running environment by some other means before sysinstall takes over? Regards, /Paul Thomas T.
