As long as you stay on the 3.0 branch, you're OK.  You can either grab the
boot floppy, boot it & use the `upgrade' option OR you can build directly
from source.  The upgrade option is pretty straightforward, the build from
source option now has a tutorial on http://www.freebsd.org/.
