Since the FTP server is behind a firewall, this will fail. I know that at least Internet Explorer has an option (buried deep in the advanced preferences) to turn off passive FTP, but I'm not sure about other browsers. This website has a good description of how passive FTP works: http://slacksite.com/other/ftp.html In addition, (and I hate to advertise, but it just might help you out) I wrote a GPL'ed PHP-based program called NotFTP that's extremely easy to get running and provides a web<->FTP gateway. It gives you the option to use passive or active FTP connections. You just might be able to modify it to suit your needs (or maybe you can use it without modifying it). You can find it at http://wonko.com/notftp/ Hope that helps. -- Ryan Grove ryan@wonko.com http://wonko.com/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the messagehelp
