However, I don't need a workaround -- I can come up with them aplenty myself :-) I wanted to make sure, the problem I'm seeing is, indeed, a bug and to solicit suggestions on how to go about fixing it (rather than working around it). Should I contact XFree86 and Xorg people? Would anyone on freebsd-x11 like to do that? In the mean time, would freebsd-x11 consider adding a patch to fix mkfontdir for FreeBSD users? Yours, -mi
