Good morning.
It seems my brand new Tyan Tiger S2460 refuses to boot once tried on an
SMP kernel, even though it works fine on GENERIC or any other non-SMP
kernel.
Everything boots normally (i.e.: The processors are detected, no
abnormal errors are reported) until it gets to this line:
acd0: DVD-ROM <HITACHI DVD-ROM GD-2500> at ata1-master PIO4
.. at which point it just freezes and doesn't budge. Numlock doesn't
work, and wildly mashing the keyboard buttons won't produce a sound.
Does anyone have any insight as to what might be bad?
