I don't mind that, as > long as the card can be made to work with FreeBSD 10.x/11. Just a shot in the dark: did you silence everything through the mixer? E.g. is line-in at 0? CD? Try and see if that hiss comes from the channel you are really trying to hear. I know, this is not likely, but costs nothing, so it's worth trying. bye av.
