There's also FiST, a toolkit for writing portable filesystems.  It comes
with several working filesystems including a cryptfs.

The FreeBSD version is currently less stable than the Linux version, but
it is under active developement, and stability fixes for FreeBSD and
Solaris are on the list of near-term goals.
