Lots, lots, lots, lots, and so on. Oh, you wanted a non-facetious answer? OK. The current incarnation of cvsup3/ftp5 is a 1-GHz Pentium III server running 4.4. It has a full GByte of RAM, and is using about 100 MBytes of swap space. It is limited to 24 cvsup clients, 4 rsync clients, and 100 ftp clients (today's average 17, max 41). Network utilization averages 4 Mbit/s (most of which is FTP); peaks are up around 12 Mbit/s. You'll find that there are some obnoxious people (or client programs) out there which will waste lots of process slots by opening half a dozen connections simultaneously; I deny access to those users. -GAWollman To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hubs" in the body of the message
