Asus P2B-S / On-Board AICxxx / IBM DGHS09V 9.1G U2W / 2.0.36 (no patches) The 8-Bit SCSI-Bus has an Plextor PX32/TSi attached, the external plug is terminated with an passive Terminator. Our new server went down the last night. It only replies to ping -- nothing else. The last message in /etc/log/messages was Dec 3 06:53:03 bark2 kernel: ll_rw_block: device 08:01: only 512-char blocks implemented (4096) As I realized now, this message occurs every two or three days in the log file. - What does this message mean? - Are there any known difficulties with the on-board aic and the IBM drive?
