Having never done this personally I can't speak from experience but my
guess is a 90% certainty that this is no harder in FreeBSD.

It's the only OS I use - it works great for me.  I can do all the work I
need on my machines.

Part of this depends on what you want to do with it.  That said, most
Linux applications (if the same doesn't exist for FreeBSD natively) will
run fine on FreeBSD.

WP8 runs fine on FreeBSD - there's even a port.  If you don't know about
the ports/package system read the manual or try checking:

	http://www.freebsd.org/ports/

Give it a shot - I personally think the ports/package system is vastly
superior to rpm.  I have not tried Debian's package system which I've
heard is good.
