FWIW, the Startech chips work very well.  Boca uses a lot of these.
However, if you get a Boca card, make sure it's a version with full
serial ports (all the modem control lines), and not one of the few
they produced for terminal use only (limited control lines).

Well, we have it in Seattle, but I can't afford the extortionist rates
U. S. West wants for it.

Now ADSL looks really cool...
