I remember the first time I installed Squid on FreeBSD (now I always do it the regular way), and ran into this problem. Maybe the port should create these files, to make the process more helpfull for newbies?? The Idea of a port should be, to make the installation easier for newcomers, or maybe not? > Squid runs as user 'nobody', so it can't create the logfiles. Just do > a "chown -R nobody /usr/local/squid" and you should be all set. Sort > of odd that the port didn't do this.
